The first half was an even affair with both teams playing competitive football. However two late goals before the interval gave Macroom a cushion on a 3-5 to 1-3 score line.

Macroom opened the scoring in the second half with captain Cathal Vaughan linking up well with forwards Finbarr Buckley and Darren Kelly to register a number of unanswered scores. In the end Macroom ran out convincing winners. Best for Macroom were Patrick Grainger, Cathal Vaughan and Patrick Lucey while Darren Kelly was always dangerous in front of goal.
